Our shop is located on what was originally West Broad Street. West and East Broad Street mark the original western and eastern boundaries of downtown Savannah. General James Oglethorpe laid out West Broad Street as the western edge of the city in 1733. The street was renamed in 1991 to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Our block consists of six merchants, from north to south: Gray's Reef Ocean Discovery Center, Savannah Square Pops, Far Side Vintage, Kustom Hustle Tattoo Parlor, ForSight Unique Eye Care & Eye Wear, and Origin Coffee Bar. Less than a decade ago, this street looked very different, with Kustom Hustle opening in 2014 and being the longest merchant on the block. We love our neighbors and our location and enjoy seeing this area of town attract so many more pedestrians now that we have an established and eclectic group of shops. So here's a shout out to them all!
Gray's Reef Ocian Discovery Center: The discovery center features interactive exhibits. Visitors can learn about the live-bottom habitats teeming with ocean life, take virtual dives, and learn their personal role in protecting one of our nation's remarkable underwater treasures. The Discovery Store presented by Coastal Heritage Society welcomes you to support your sanctuary with ocean- and Earth-friendly toys, gifts, and books.
Far Side Vintage clothing: Far Side offers vintage jerseys, graphic tees, streetwear and accessories. They curate 90's to early 2000's aesthetics, they buy and trade in store and also sell vinyl records. They are the most recent addition to the block, and this is their second store, the first one being in Charleston, SC. It's a great place to discover vintage finds!
Kustom Hustle Tattoo Parlor: After over 20 years in the industry, tattooer Marcus Dove made the life-changing decision to open the doors of Kustom Hustle Tattoo Parlor – an establishment created solely to express the artists’ passion for low brow art and the traditional Americana tattoo lifestyle. Kustom Hustle hosts a crew of skilled artists, each specializing in multiple styles of tattooing.
ForSight Unique Eye Care & Eye Wear: ForSight, kinda like Forsyth, was inspired by the intricate beauty of the historic district of Savannah. Their love for detail, creativity, and preservation is the foundation for ForSight Unique Eye Care & Eye Wear. As your personalized eye doctor in Savannah, they are here to provide the most thorough eye exams, the most comprehensive emergency eye care, and the most unique eye wear options in the area. They do it all #4theloveofeyes.
Origin Coffee Bar: Elise and Matt met over coffee and the city they both call home. When they went looking for a coffee experience worth serving at their own wedding and couldn't find one, they built it themselves. That was the start of Origin. They rolled out in 2020 as a mobile coffee bar, pouring one event and one Saturday morning at a time. That led to their first steady home, a pop-up inside a shared Savannah space. In 2023, they moved into a restored building of their own downtown, with a full kitchen and roastery, so every cup they pour and every plate they serve starts right on West Broad.
Be sure to check out our block of merchants and enjoy the stroll!
